What is Directional Boring?
Directional Boring is used to cross driveways, highways, railways, landscaping, highly congested areas, and any area where minimal damage is required.
It is also used opposed other methods to provide less traffic disruption, lower cost, deeper/longer installation, shorter completion times, and environmental safety.
How Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) works
HDD requires a small crew. The tracking operator gathers data from a sonde, a radio transmitter located in the drill head just behind the drill bit. The sonde gives you detail such as location, depth, angle, and temperature to help the drill operator adjust the direction of the bit and control the bore path.
